A tasty and easy to make shawarma sauce, aka a garlic yogurt sauce with a hit of tahini and lemon!
This is that classic creamy and garlicky sauce that's squirted all over your shawarma just at the end that's all sorts of good! This sauce has a base of a thick yogurt to which plenty of garlic is added before seasoning with lemon juice and salt to taste. Shawarma sauce also commonly uses mayonnaise these days and you can easily replace some or all of the yogurt with it to add that extra layer of flavour! I like to add a touch of tahini, a sesame paste similar to peanut butter using ground sesame seeds, which really brings everything together. Store this shawarma sauce in the fridge and use on or in your shawarma's, as a dip for veggies, pita chips, in sandwiches, as a dressing, etc!
